I have a new component in my solar-powered water pump today. There is a charge controller which ensures that the battery is charging properly, ie not more than calculated. I must say that the system that I have put together here is not cheap, the pump only $ 89, the battery was $ 25, $ 23 charge controller, and the solar cell was $ 99.
